COVID-19 Response Team/Registered Nurse

Must be able to work onsite in La Crosse, WI. Remote employment will not be available right away.

This position is an integral part of the COVID-19 Emergency Response Team outbound call center for the State of Wisconsin, responsible for supporting and triaging individuals over the phone with suspected positive COVID-19 screen, based on CDC screening and response guidelines. RCW COVID-19 team is the heart of a 24/7 outbound call center.

Training will consist of 16 hours onsite during regular weekday business hours. Regular shifts are 9 hours. Day, night, weekend shifts available. 

Full Time Flex (Flex Hours), both full and part-time available.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Part of an outbound call center open 24/7, including holidays

  • Assesses and triages immediate COVID-19 screening results and health concerns

  • Identifies needs for resources and offering opportunity for intervention

  • Provides health education to callers to assist them in best decision making

  • Supports caller in selection of testing resources if necessary to maximize access and quality

  • Manages utilization through education

  • Special projects, initiatives, and other job duties as assigned


To be considered for this position, applicants need to meet the required qualifications.


Required Qualifications

  • Active, unrestricted WI or compact state RN license

  • 3+ years of experience in any clinical setting

  • Proficient level of experience with Microsoft Office applications, and strong technical aptitude

Preferred Qualifications:

  • WI RN license and/or Compact Multi-State RN license

  • Bilingual Spanish and/or Hmong

  • Triage experience

  • Previous experience in a telephonic role

  • Previous critical care experience

  • Previous experience working with the geriatric population

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Highly organized, self-directed worker with an ability to function in high volume environment
