Warm Up This Winter by Spicing Up Your Workout Routine

Feeling unmotivated to hit the gym? Bored with your gym routine?
Keep yourself motivated and avoid quitting by finding what makes you happy! Exercise should be fun for you! Think about the types of exercise that you enjoy the most. If you need a break from your current routine, go back to the basics, or try something totally different. Working out doesn't always have to happen in the gym. Being physically active can happen anywhere. This might look like walking the dog, playing basketball, or following a fun workout video in the comfort of you own home. If you find yourself getting bored at the gym, try a new piece of equipment, ask the fitness staff for new workout ideas, or join a group exercise class to spice things up.
Another good way to stay motivated is to set reasonable goals for yourself. If you have achievable goals, you will be more likely to attempt new things. The recommendation is to be physically active for 30 minutes 3-5 days per week. If this sounds like it will be too challenging, set a goal for yourself to be more active each week. Take small steps to reaching the recommendation that work best for you. For example: set a goal of working out for 15 minutes 3 days per week and gradually add time or plan for an additional day at the gym. Changing your mind set can help too! Start thinking "I get to work out today!" or "I am able to work out today!" instead of thinking "I have to work out today."
Here are some ideas:
